ASV: Datorprogramma paver iespēju visiem studentiem

Profesora Martina Cinkes-Allmanga  pirmā kursa fizikas lekcijas Rietumu universitātē  gada laikā izmainījušās līdz nepazīšanai. Tas nav saistīts ar viņa lekciju saturu, tāpat nav mainījusies telpa vai pasniegšanas stils. Tas nav saistīts pat ar to, ka augstskolā ienākuši  jauni studenti. Galvenā atšķirība ir nodarbību pieejamība, un to nodrošina jaunā datorprogrammu sistēma, ko izstrādājis uzņēmums International Tehnology Services (ITS).


Pirms pieciem gadiem Cinkes-Allmanga nodarbībās pirmo reizi piedalījās studenti ar dzirdes traucējumiem. Profesora lekcijas notiek milzīgā auditorijā ar vairāk nekā 1000 klausītāju vietām. Lai nedzirdīgie varētu labāk uztvert profesora teikto, viņiem būtu jānodrošina iespēja lasīt no lūpām, kas tik lielā zālē nav iespējams.
 
Pašlaik profesora lekcijās piedalās divi studenti ar dzirdes traucējumiem. Tāpēc šajā mācību gadā ieviestas ievērojamas izmaiņas. Kad profesors vada mācību nodarbības, viņa lekcijas ieraksta ar īpašas ITS izstrādātas datorprogrammas –  interaktīvās tāfeles (Blackboard Collaborate) palīdzību, kas rada virtuālu mācību auditorijas atmosfēru. Izmantojot šo bezvadu sistēmu studenti uz tāfeles un savos klēpjdatora ekrānos var redzēt jau iepriekš ielādētos PowerPoint slaidus, uz kuriem pasniedzējs vēlāk veic papildu atzīmes, paskaidrojumus un komentārus. Visas darbības  saglabātas klēpjdatora atmiņā. Nedzirdīgo studentu ērtībām sistēma ļauj izmantot slēptos titrus.
 
Kad lekcija beigusies, datorsistēma pilnībā saglabā visu lekcijas gaitu – slaidus, audioinformāciju, piezīmes un slēptos titrus. Tas studentiem dod iespēju vēlāk atgriezties pie lekcijas un nepieciešamības gadījumā vēlreiz visu noskatīties.
Šāda iespēja ir daudz ērtāka un efektīvāka nekā vienkāršs lekciju konspekts datorā. Slēptie titri palīdz labāk uztvert pasniedzēja stāstīto. Nedzirdīgie studenti, kas jau izmēģinājuši šo sistēmu, apgalvo, ka to vajadzētu ieviest visās lekcijās, lai tās būtu pieejamas visiem.
 
Šī ir pirmā reize, kad Rietumu universitātes nodarbību laikā tiek izmantota ITS interaktīvās tāfeles sistēma. Tās uzstādītāju pārstāve Džeina Vinklere vērtē rezultātu pozitīvi: pārējie.”
 
Profesors Cinke-Allmangs uzsver, ka sistēmu var izmantot ne tikai nedzirdīgie, bet tā var būt noderīga, arī organizējot tālmācības dzirdīgiem studentiem.
